What Is Periodontal Disease?
Quite simply, periodontal disease is a chronic infection of the tissues that surround and support the teeth (for example, gums and bone). It results in inflammation of the gum tissue, which causes recession and bone loss, ultimately leading to tooth mobility and final tooth loss. Periodontal disease is serious, but generally painless until it is in the advanced stages. 75 percent of adults over 35 have some form of periodontal disease.
Tooth loss is not the only problem posed by periodontal disease. Research has found links to heart disease, stroke, diabetes, bacterial pneumonia, increased risk during pregnancy, dementia and arthritis, to name a few.

How Can Periodontal Disease Be treated?
At Oral Dynamics, we have a soft tissue management (STM) program that effectively diagnoses and treats periodontal disease. We do a thorough diagnosis of each tooth to determine the severity of the disease. We clean the teeth of plaque and calculus (tarter) and detoxify the periodontal pockets and roots of the Cialis. Most importantly, we teach you how to use instruments in your daily hygiene regimen so you can help control the infection on a daily basis. Periodontal disease cannot be cured, but together we can control the disease and maintain your periodontal health. Call us at 610-435-5707 to get started with our dentist, Dr. Michael Rowland.
